As my OB was stitching me up I realized that DH was having a conversation with a younger guy about their grades in their biology class. I didn't have glasses/contacts on so I just said "Hi. Welcome to my vagina." HAHA! I was SO out of it. DH said that he and the nurses both asked if it was okay (the guy is pre-med) and I said yes but I don't remember it. He was totally respectful though and kind of ignored me totally. Other than that my family didn't come in until after J was here though. </p> <p>I should add, my MIL is a nurse and I think maybe that's why I was so comfortable with her being there? My mom was okay with staying in the waiting room. But when the time came, my mom and my sister ended up being in the room (along with DH) and I wouldn't have it any other way. When I'm in labor I don't liked to be talked to, touched, have my back rubbed, or anything else. I know I'm weird but I deal with the pain better by myself without all the external distractions. I think if I knew people were just waiting in the waiting room, I'd get anxious over them being bored, should I have them come in for a while, was this skin to skin long enough? It kind of doesn't matter much since my family live about 5 hours away and DH's are across the country! I didn't know that the epidural would slow down labor to the point that nothing would happen for another 6 hours. We called my FIL at around 5 a.m., he was at our house watching our dog overnight so he was much closer. So my dad was in L&amp;D with us from about 2 - 7 a.m. when I started pushing (delivered at 8:30); FIL from about 6 - 7 a.m. I was fine with them being there once I had the epidural but didn't want them there while I was pushing.
