@BeBop: Mine were crazy high with both my boys! I seriously break every old wives tale with both of them, so I'm very cynical about all of this, sorry! Haha. Everything from hcg levels to morning sickness to breakouts to gender charts...they all said I should have been having a girl both times.

@wonderstruck: thanks for sharing! What do you think about the theory that boys = lower hcg levels? I got my bfp at 9dpo with my DD and also at 9dpo with this one. And also, my betas were normal range and doubled in 48hrs, but they were not at all off the chart numbers, and I wondered about total hcg levels as an indicator as well.

I guess it's just fun to think about, since all I can do is wait:)

Identical pregnancies - absolutely identical, down to weight gain, the way I carried, and even the way they were positioned during every scan - and I have two girls!

Same pregnancy, same gender. Though I've had breakouts this time and usually (and last pregnancy) my skin is perfect.
Two girls for me.

I chimed on this several months ago, but will reiterate that different pregnancies have different hormone levels, which causes different levels of symptoms. Your hormone levels are not influenced by and have no effect on the gender. I know some people have fun looking at the old wives tales, but that is really all that they are!

I'm bumping for more replies:)

I am close to 6 weeks and wondering if I'm having another little girl bc I haven't had even the slightest of symptoms other than being more tired. I never had MS with my daughter (just 1 morning actually), and I kind of thought a boy would make me sick since I wasn't sick with a girl:)

My first two pregnancies were night and day from each other so I was convinced I was having a boy for #2 since I was even carrying way lower but we have two girls! This pregnancy is similar to last time but still different so I have no feelings either way lol!

I feel like our bodies chemistry can fluctuate. Weather changes and PP changes, age, diet. So much can make for a different pregnancy. A nub shot or a blood test will be your only way to know for sure. The Chinese gender chart was right for me and has been so right for all of my friends that I kind of assume it will be right each month that we try but I've seen that be wrong too on several occasions. I've seen shettles proven wrong. You might be able to look into Ramzi's theory. Just remember to reverse the image if you had an abdominal ultrasound.

DS - easiest pregnancy ever. Regular weight gain. Major sex drive.
DD - mild nausea the first 13 weeks. Weight gain all over the place. Low sex drive. More aches and pains.

I cant say because I only have the one, but when this subject gets brought up, my mom always gets so riled up because she insists all of her pregnancies were IMMENSELY different. She was team green all 3 times and had 2 girls and 1 boy. What she tells me, they really are different. From conception (medicated or not, versus getting KU while nursing) to sickness, to how she carried, to weight gain and cravings, and even labors were all different.

Not the same thing, but my MIL and mother both had two IDENTICAL pregnancies. My MIL ended up with one of each, my mom with two girls.

My early symptoms this time were wildly different (nausea, cramping) from my pregnancy with DD (sore nips, fatigue). This pregnancy is a no-go (and I do wonder if how sick I was immediately was a sign that something was not right), but it's interesting to compare!
