@autumn865: tomorrow is day three for us (mwf, 4 hours) and we are more or less in the same position. And lo isn't the type to just stop when I leave and am out of sight. But I'm wanting to give it at least 6 weeks because she is part time and has been at home with me (and several months grandma) for 3 years, so this was kind of expected. We bought a bunch of books about school and she watched Daniel tiger goes to school and she is processing everything so I'm actually hoping to see some progress in the next couple weeks, and not sure what to expect as I'm due with #2 in a couple weeks as well. Sending hugs your way, it is so stressful! (Eta, and I'm trying not to stress because I don't want her to stress more!)

My daughter cried at every single drop off when she started preschool at 3. It wasn't just at drop-off either, she would cry for like an hour (out of the 3 that she was there). It was horrible. We tried everything, but nothing worked. Her second year of preschool was more or less the same -- but mostly only at drop-offs.

We started Kindergarten 3 weeks ago, and just this week, she finally stopped crying drop-off. What I did was that I made her a deal. I will promise her something, if she promises me not to cry. She's 5 and half now and understands how that work completely. So it worked.

My only suggestion is that as long as she's enjoying school once you leave, then it's ok. Eventually she will stop crying.

No advice but I just left my daughter sobbing with her preschool teacher basically holding her to keep her in the room :crying:

She has actually really been enjoying school but woke up this morning insisting that she wasn't going and things went downhill from there. I had to put her in the carseat kicking and screaming and basically drag her in there. I feel horrible.

I hope things get easier for both of our kiddos soon

We are two weeks into preschool (2 days a week for 2.5 hours) and drop off is actually getting harder! Last night she was crying before bed saying she didn't want to go :( she slept poorly with about 5 wake ups and then drop off was hysteria :( I know I want to give it some time but leaving her in tears feels so crummy!
