I let the stylist pick the color. There are tons of images on Pinterest. It's super super low maintenance, wash/condition/blow dry every two or three days. I don't use product and I just bun it on top of my head to sleep. If my bun was too tight and the curls get crazy I just tamp it down with water. Thats the upside, the downside is it cost almost $500 in my area. At this point I already had the perm for about 3-4 months so not as "fresh". I think it's super low maintenance and gives me some volume that I otherwise wouldn't have, but it's not your typical poufy perm! My products are not under $15, but I use the curl shampoo/conditioner from Pureology. I think there's a line called Organix that's pretty inexpensive, sulfate free and widely available. Maybe $10 per bottle?
