I just don't put them in the dryer because if they shrink, I'm screwed. So I air dry them and then blast them with the steamer for a few seconds to soften them up since they get a little crunchy if you air dry. We have a plain wooden table with chairs in our kitchen and that's where Xander eats the majority of his meals. Never again!! The chairs are falling apart and uncomfortable and I am ready for an upgrade. I love upholstered chairs but I am wondering with LO's, if it is stupid to get them. If you have upholstered chairs, are there any that clean well and are durable? </p>
