In this situation I would do a taco/nacho bar. Pre-make meat/chicken and have all the veggies chopped up, bring throwaway plastic bowls and call it good!

Easiest is spaghetti and sauce, with or without meatballs! Very toddler friendly too! I also agree with bagged salad, store made garlic bread, and lots of wine! More time to enjoy your vacation!

@regberadaisy: Uhh, mine! It kills me, because we're Italian. My mom makes sauce like it is her job. It also causes my husband to have some really killer indigestion, so we don't eat much of it around here.

@regberadaisy: I have two friends who don't like spaghetti!! Isn't that the craziest thing? And, like 10 kids I know will not touch red sauce. I'm a carb monster, so I just can't understand! ;)

@teawithpaloma: I love love making a bolognese sauce in the crockpot! Really just prep any meat sauce as you would per usual. Pre sauté all the meat and veg then dump in crockpot and let it go for hours.
I'm actually making a turkey/hamburger meat (what I have in the freezer) bolognese sauce for tomorrow night's dinner. I have carrots, pepper, celery and onion, so those are the veg I'm using. I also roasted some butternut squash and will purée that to sneak some extra veg in.

What kid doesn't like pasta and sauce???

Spaghetti and meatballs is always our go-to crowd pleaser. Kids like noodles, but if they don't like the sauce, you can easily do butter and cheese. If they don't like noodles, they'll eat meatballs.

Add a simple bagged salad and supermarket garlic bread, BOOM. Easy awesome meal. You can make the sauce at home and freeze, then thaw and pop into the slow cooker to reheat.

Get a big pork butt, season with steak seasoning and sear, place in crockpot with a diced onion and cook low 6-8 hours. Shred and serve on toasted rolls with mayo and provolone. Serve with oven roasted potatoes tossed in olive oil salt and thyme and the oven will be preheated and you can toast a whole sheet of rolls at once. Add a roasted green veg and/or coleslaw or a salad and done.

Make your own pizzas. Grab some of those Boboli crusts, a jar of sauce, some shredded cheese, and chopped veggies from the supermarket salad bar (peppers, mushrooms, olives, onions), and a bag of pepperoni. The kids can have smaller pizzas on pita bread or English muffins. Big salad on the side.

Baked mac & cheese (a little more work, but star of the show)
Oven baked BBQ chicken (season salt & pepper legs & wings and then slather on sauce)
Veggie (I love green beans, so sautee sliced onions, with bacon/ slice per can of drained string beans, add back chicken stock for flavor, season & simmer)
Texas Toast

for crock pot: shredded chicken or carne asada tacos, pulled pork, chili, meatballs, some sort of pot roast....
you could also do some sort of pasta dish which is also easy for a big group....

My go-to for a big crowd is a taco bar. You can almost always have enough different fixins that everyone is happy.

We (and I really mean me) are responsible for one dinner in a getaway with two other couples and their daughters. Our kids are all somewhere between 1-2 and seemingly don't have too many issues besides normal toddler fickleness.

Any suggestions for a well-liked, easy to make dinner for that many people? I may bring my crockpot if you fabulous people suggest a recipe that I can get cooking in the morning. No dietary restrictions!
