@josina: I love that I can use DS’s dino toys for decor! Party hats is a super cute idea

@psw27: I love the reptile idea. Probably not in the cards for this year but I’ll have to keep it in mind.

@azaela: that cake sounds great!

We had a dinosaur theme recently and I did a dino dig cake. With white chocolate dinosaur bones and crushed Oreos for dirt. It was a huge hit and I've never seen kids so excited for the cake.
I just did plush dinos for favors ordered in bulk from Amazon. Ours was outside the house so I planned no activities or anything. I saw some cute dino masks and love the idea of the eggs that the kids "excavate"

@LadyDi: just take a bit of prep and that was it. My kids are 3.5 and 2 and the first time we did them they spent over half an hour doing it.

We have done these:

https://www.amazon.com/Dig-It-Up-Dinosaur-Eggs/dp/B01ASBOQQY

They are a little messy and you have to remember to pre-soak them so the kids can chisel the toy out but even my super hyper 4 year old will do those for 15-20 minutes per egg.

A little more extravagant but my friend had a dinosaur party for her son and she found a company to bring all sorts of reptiles out to their house! The kids loved it!

My LO is obsessed with dino's so I've done 2 dino parties already.

I saved these but haven't used them - free dinosaur mask templates: https://www.itsybitsyfun.com/dinosaur-masks.html

Super cute/easy dessert - brownies with white frosting painted on to look like fossils.

Cake was chocolate frosting with crunched up chips ahoy to look like dirt - Small dino's make great cake toppers.

I used DS's toy-dinos to as balloon weights. One year I made mini-party hats for the dino's, super cute and easy.

Dinosaur deviled eggs - slightly crack the eggs and soak them in dye before making the deviled eggs, makes them look like dino eggs!

I also made some dinosaur baking soda eggs recently. If you google it you’ll see. Super easy and fun. You get them out with little pipettes of vinegar or syringes or whatever.

I’m going to follow this thread for my kid’s 4th birthday! :)

We did dinosaur for DS1’s 4th bday too. It was very low maintenance because I had a fairly new baby and just didn’t want to go nuts. It was still super cute.

@Ajsmommy: @JennyPenny: Dino nuggets FTW!

@poppygirl15: Love these ideas!

@Mrs. Marshmallow: We had a construction party last year with a sensory table. I should just swap out the excavators for dinosaur bones and call it day. I still have the rice.

@kayla0416: So cute! I saw little dinosaur head hats at the dollar store, I will probably pick some of those up.

We just went to a dinosaur themed party. The parts that stuck out to me were

- Dino chicken nuggets, always a hit
- This sprinkler, the kids loved it!! https://www.amazon.com/BigMouth-Ginormous-Inflatable-Dinosaur-Sprinkler/dp/B078TKXWGN
- The party favors were candy and little toy/stickers in spotted easter eggs. It might be late to find them on clearance, but I thought this was brilliant.

ETA: Oh, and she had drawn big dino footprints in chalk on the driveway and sidewalk leading up to the door. My son thought that was amazing :)

Our neighbor did this for her son and they did two super cute activities. First, she got some dinosaur eggs and let each kid break it open. https://smile.amazon.com/Dino-Egg-Dig-Kit-Archaeology/dp/B07H9GY33H/ref=sr_1_3?crid=13UBZ4HP2BMF3&keywords=dinosaur+eggs&qid=1559071753&s=gateway&sprefix=dinosaur+eggs%2Caps%2C236&sr=8-3
Next, she sent groups on different scavenger hunts for "fossils." They found a shallow box (think shirt box) filled with sand and hidden in it were 3-D dinosaur puzzles. The kids then worked together to put the dino puzzles together.https://smile.amazon.com/iBuy365-Wooden-Simulation-Dinosaur-Assembly/dp/B01HJT70R0/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1O8CQHXFRNNP0&keywords=3-d+dinosaur+puzzles&qid=1559071856&s=gateway&sprefix=3-d+di%2Caps%2C325&sr=8-3

So cute. I'll have to follow bc DS loves dino's so I might be doing one of these someday.

I'd probably go the route of making up names for some snack type stuff..
"dino bones" for pretzels
"Herbivore salad" for a fruit plate/salad
"Carnivore meatballs"
"Dino eggs" for grapes or cheeseballs or something round
"Raptor raisins"
"T Rex tortilla chips and salsa"
"Brontosaurus burgers"
"lava juice"

I saw once a CUTE idea. Sugar cookies with footprints pressed in them and they were "Fossil Cookies"

ETA: and how could I forget the "dino chicken nuggets" we get these from wegmans!
ETAA: and I'd probably do a green/brown color scheme and if I had a sandbox I'd bury bones in it for the kids to dig and find... or maybe I'd do a scavenger hunt type thing ...

DS is turning 4 at the end of June and wants to have a Dino party at our house. There will be 7 kids between ages of 1.5-5. Does anyone have any simple Dino activities, decor, favor, or food ideas??? I get overwhelmed looking at Pinterest. If the weather is nice we’re going to borrow a small bounce house from my neighbor and we’ll have water balloons, so I don’t think we’ll need many other activities.
