I won a Clek Foonf at Mommycon-Philly, and it's installed in my car, since that's the car we use for longer trips and most of our errands around town. I love it, and D seems happy in it. My biggest concern was that the crotch belt seemed really short, but I just read that they are offering an extension belt for it, so that solves that problem. It is incredibly sturdy, has the anti-rebound bar, and the one I got has the antimicrobial fabric. WIN.

In Hubs' car we got a Graco MyRide 65, and we're also happy with that one. It is substantially lighter than the Foonf (the Foonf weighs over 30 pounds), so we'll use that when we need to travel with a car seat.

I have the foonf and love it! Got a pretty good deal too and got it for $350. We haven't decided what to put in DH's car. We were thinking of getting something that might be a little easier to fly with, since the foonf is super heavy!!

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee so I'm not pressed for space as much as a sedan. But we have it in the middle and it fits perfectly, I don't think there'd be any issue fitting more in a row.

@loveisstrange: If G was in a seat that went "installed" where he didn't need to reach the belt we could fit 3 across..... him being in a seat belt booster really changes the dynamics in our Escape though. :/

@emg86: Sorry to threadjack... I doknow a couple friends that have a Nextfit though and LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! If we didn't need to fit more across we'd definitely look into it too or the Graco. I don't think either would take up the backseat to the point someone else couldn't' comfortably sit back there, just for us & G's booster narrower seats are a must.

@runsyellowlites: Ah. :( Yeah, I know that my CRV doesnt work with 3 across either, even with my and my neighbors tiny UK spec seats in the back. We tried, since she's pregnant again.

@loveisstrange: Thanks our Combi is 17".... I don't think we could manage another 1-1.5" wider. We already barely fit, well technically don't since my mom has to buckle G's belt when back there b/c he cant' get to it. :/ boo that!

@runsyellowlites: The only measurement I've been able to find for the external width is 18", which the Radian and Foonf are both 17". So it actually doesnt look like it's that much wider than the two of them. Depending on your car, I bet you could manage 3 across.

@loveisstrange: Have you been able to find out how much seat space the Graco takes up? That is my only qualm... with both G and the occasional 3rd backseat passenger we *need* a narrower seat. :/

The Foonf has a higher rf weight limit, but the Radian gives you 1 more inch for rf height.

I believe both fit in a variety of vehicles well too. Can't really go wrong with either. Have you considered getting in touch with a local CPST to see if they have experience with these seats in your car type? You can also join the Car Seats for the Littles fb group & ask the techs there for their experiences, as well as search on car-seat.org.

@mrsmate: Have you tried an angle adjuster? That might free up some front seat space.

My LO is also 99/100th percentile in height and you should also consider the Graco My Size 70/Size4Me/Headwise (highest RF height limit on the market) and the Chicco NextFit (same height limit as the Radian).

I wanted a Foonf, but in the end couldn't justify spending $420 when I could get a cheaper seat to accomplish the same thing. We're between the Radian and the Graco at the moment, leaning towards Graco.

I went with a radian bc I think it will accomplish the same thing as the foonf (extended rear facing) at a lower price point.

We also have a small car, and not only do you have to consider the width of the seat, but also how much room it takes up front to back. DH can no longer sit in the passenger seat. It's not a big deal bc he can just sit in the back when I'm driving. But I've heard the foonf is even bigger? Not sure, I've never seen one in person. But both are great seats.

We have 2 Foonfs. I really like them and feel like LO is really well protected.

Here is a good thread that discussed the pros/cons of both:

I own a ford focus, I went with a Diono because I read reviews from people with the same car who said they were able to put three of them across the back seat. You can definitely still seat 2 people next to the car seat in the back. It's one heavy mofo - but I'm really happy with it.

J is approaching 6 months & we're looking into convertibles cause lugging around her infant seat is getting harder and she's pretty tall (99% for height).

My car is a small a sedan, so I'd like to keep her seat narrow. We want to rear face until she's 3, hopefully 4. My husband gave me the go ahead to get the Foonf but the $$$$$$ is killing me. Gah. He keeps telling me the price doesn't matter but when I look at the Diono seats that also have great reviews and are cheaper I start back at square one.

If you have a Foonf, how do you like it? Do you have two of them or do you keep something else in the car that your LO rides less frequently in? I'm a SAHM & most of the time we are in my car but my husband still wants a seat in his car.

Does with Diono seats, how do you like them? Anyone have one in a narrow backseat?
