I'm leaning towards the Radian too. Though, apparently the Maxi-Cosi has some special fabric that's supposed to be awesome for keeping babes cool. LO is always sweatin in our Britax infant seat.

We have the Diono Radian RXT for our eldest and love it. Ditto all the comments by @erwoo! It's heavy, but it's made with steel so it's constructed very well and with the utmost safety in mind. They market it as a caseat you can travel with like a backpack too, but I wouldn't because of the weight. we have a separate travel carseat anyway. Also love the true side impact protection and high weight limit for rear-facing. The other big reason we got it was because it's narrow and if we have #3 we'd like three in a row. It's also narrow enough that it's right next to another carseat in the middle for my 15 month old whom I wanted to keep in the center for as long as possible. All other seats were really wide.

I don't know anything about the Maxi Cosi though!

We have two Dionos and I LOVE IT! Aside from the weight (which is a good thing) and lack of passenger leg room if you rear-face (they sell something to help with this issue), I love that it sits low and you pretty much just need to buy that and that's it b/c all of their car seats go up to 120 lbs now (80 lbs with 5-point harness). It has awesome safety ratings. I couldn't recommend it more. Oh, and you can sit three across if you need to. Or if you have two installed one person can still sit comfortably in the middle seat (I have a mid-size SUV); or put two next to each other and someone can sit even more comfortably on the side seat. And once my youngest is ready to move I'm going to buy two more (we have two cars).

I'm starting to research the next carseat for LO. I know Britax is a best seller, but for several reasons we've decided against that. Does anyone have any opinions on either the Diono or the Maxi-Cosi?
