Then again, I pull the tightening strap downwards vs upwards. </p> <p>I don't use the infant insert since he's not an infant. Plus, it seems super bulky. There is a infant/toddler support cushion that isn't attached anywhere, did you use that with your older child? DD is 3 and so far the padding is just annoying because she messes up how it lays when she climbs in the seat herself.</p> <p>Second and more importantly, are you able to pull the seat up when FF if you pull up on the bottom of the seat? We used to have a Britax Marathon and that thing was rock solid in all directions. The Radian is great side to side, but if I accidentally pull up on the tightening strap the whole base flips up, which seems really not safe! It's tethered in the trunk. </p>
