We actually use a folded prefold diaper as a kind of pillow in their crib, so we're cycling those between laundry-our bed-their cribs every few days now too....and hopefully we can eliminate the sweatshirts on the floor soon :)

If your kids go to daycare, they always suggest doing this so that they can be easily comforted there, too. Very cool how this works!

aww they love the way you smell. I put my pillowcase in the cats' carriers when they go to the vet so I bet it's the same idea :) Excellent!

I did read that you should sleep with your baby's blankets before you give them to them. It helps comfort them. Glad to know it's working for you!

Yep. Hubs and I put a few of our worn shirts under our LO's cribs and their number of night wakings dropped dramatically. I'm getting 8 hours of sleep!

Twins are 3 months now and still had a few 'comfort' wakeups most nights in addition to feedings, so we were still getting up every hour or two all night, and totally exhausted.

Our dirty laundry has completely eliminated the comfort wakeups for the last week - they only wake once or twice to eat! I guess being able to smell DH and I helps them settle themselves back to sleep quickly when they wake at night.

Just thought I'd share in case this could help someone else. Or maybe this is already common knowledge that I just finally figured out :)
