@Jessiemuller88: definitely sounds like GERD! I developed a nasty cough with it at first too. It's easy once you're on meds though; mine went away the day after I had Sam

@Sams Mom: @snarkybiochemist: I’ll definitely talk to my doctor next week at my first appointment. Hopefully I can get some relief. I also feel like something is in my throat. It’s a weird sensation. I read that it might be GERD but wasn’t sure. Thank y’all!

I would talk to your doctor about acid reflux and taking something for it. I was on prevacid from 11 weeks on, it mostly helped

@Jessiemuller88: mine didn't start until a little later, but by 12 weeks I was on prescription Prilosec for GERD, and all was well with the pregnancy.

@nana87: @Becky: it’s so resssuring to hear your experiences. Thanks for taking the time to share. I have never had reflux before, so I had no idea what was going on. Thanks for putting my mind at ease ladies.

My first pregnancy was a huge surprise and pain in the upper abdomen/upper epigastric pain was one of my first symptoms. There had been an awful stomach bug with serious upper epigastric pain where I had worked 2 years earlier and I thought that’s what I was coming down with again. So, nothing to be concerned about IMO!

I've had major reflux and gas digestive problems since lo2's pregnancy (she gave me a hiatal hernia, lovely ;) ) and get that upper abdomen pain. Gas-x does wonders, and pepcid complete for heart burn

ETA since it's upper abdomen, I think that'd be unlikely to be due to a loss, but I know that this early anything is scary. Sounds much more like babe is slowing your digestive tract

@nwm: @bhbee: thanks ladies. I agree it’s probably digestive issues, I’ve just never experienced anything like this. It’s definitely worse after I eat though, so likely the heartburn or gas you are describing. I’ll try the gas-x!

Could be gas... pregnancy always slowed my system WAY down and that can be one result. I’m pretty sure you can take gas-x in pregnancy and it might help. I’m sorry you’re not feeling well, I understand the fear of repeat loss but I agree this sounds different.
Another thought that just occurred to me is heartburn ... it showed up in weird ways this last pregnancy and your mention of fullness reminded me. I could hardly eat at the beginning before I eventually got on a daily med. It was worse each pregnancy for me and showed up long before the baby was big enough to be a factor, just as a result of hormones.

Not sure I’ve experienced what you’re describing but do find digestive issues are often heightened during pregnancy. If it’s upper abdomen, and you’re so early, I would be very surprised if it was a sign one way or the other about the pregnancy!

I’m a little over 6 weeks along, and for the past few days, I have been experiencing a lot of discomfort in my upper abdomen. It’s not painful, but it feels super full and very uncomfortable all the time, has anyone else experienced this? I have had 5 losses in a row, so I’m worried this is a bad sign.
