I felt really discouraged too after I had my LO....I thought I'd be one of those "cute" preggo women with just a little basketball bump since I was on the thin side my whole life..BOY WAS I WRONG!!! I gained weight everywhere! I did lose it quickly after I had my LO, but not those last 10lbs....(and this is two years later)....Finally, I just got to a point where I was sick of not feeling confident in my body, so I just decided one day to start eating healthier...No fast food, less carbs, etc. and once I saw a tiny difference, it gave me the motivation to do more, like start exercising...I've decided its all baby steps...But just know, that you are NOT alone in feeling like this!

Oh and yes, the 30 Day Shred is a video that you do at home. It's 20 minutes plus the warm up and cool down. I used to do it with DH and I'm trying to get him to do it again with me because I think it'll make it more fun.

@katyh: I got this off of Amazon because I noticed I felt fitter but wasn't losing weight yet.

@BelugaBean: I'll have to look into the 30 day shred. Is it something you do at home, alone? I have a hard time being motivated there. I have been working out with a couple of girls at work on our lunch break- short but effective. Yesterday we did this:

For time (20min cap) – complete the list below in any order you choose. You can break down in smaller sets, etc.

1 stair climb (take stairs all the way to basement and all the way back up) – only one person can go at a time on this one
20 Burpee Broad Jumps
40 Push-Ups
60 Dips
80 Walking Lunges
100 Jump Rope
80 One Leg Bridges (40 each leg)
60 Plank Knee Touches
40 Crunches or V-Ups or Sit-ups (choose one)
20 Sumo Deadlift High Pulls with kettlebell
1 Cartwheel or Handstand

I did it all but 20 one leg bridges. Of course, I can barely move today and my sweet tooth is still there.... How do you check your body fat percentage?

@katyh: I thought I'd let you know that the 30 Day Shred seems to be doing something for me. I gained like half a pound but when I checked my body fat percentage, it had gone down 0.4% so hopefully that means I'm gaining muscle and losing fat (and hopefully weigh soon). I've been doing two levels a day and I'm going to try to start back running on Monday.

And yes, sweets are my weakness too. I'm trying to stay away from them but it's so hard.

@BelugaBean: yes! Let's keep each other motivated! I know LO is totally worth it. It's totally frustrating to see other moms bounce right back or lose more weight, and I'm happy for them... mostly:)

I'm feeling a run this week.. haven't run since before my daughter was born. And no more sweets in the house- I developed a sweet tooth when I was pregnant that never went away.

I'm pretty much in the same place you are. I'm almost 8 months postpartum and I think I'm 5-7 pounds above my pre-baby weight but I'm about 30 or so above where I'd like to be. I'm trying to do the 30 day shred to see if it'll get me a little closer and I'm going to pick back up on C25K next Monday (I couldn't run because I had a bad cold last week so I got off track).

It's hard because I've seen so many other people I know get to 10 pounds UNDER their pre-baby weight without really putting in effort and they got there so quickly (some within 2 months).

It is hard but I try to remember that it will take some work and that LO is worth it. I'm also trying to remember that the slower it comes off, the more likely it will stay off for longer (which is hard). We have family pictures next week and I'm so worried about looking huge which is kind of motivating me to work harder.

Maybe we can try to keep each other motivated to keep going.

I'm feeling bummed/discouraged/sad about my body 7 months PP. I only have 10 pounds of baby weight to lose before I'm at my pre-baby weight, but about 25-30 pounds to go before I'm at my ideal weight. I don't think it would be so bad if it weren't all in my belly- I still look pregnant! And I'm going to the beach next week, which I should be excited about but I'm just dreading the bathing suit (if it even fits). I work out 3x a week and I think I am slimming down, but I really thought it would have happened faster (LO is EBF).

Does anyone else ever have days like this? How do you stay positive? Thoughts? Motivation? Help?
