I have had loose ligaments my whole life - my ankles roll/sprain easily and I can pop my shoulders out of the sockets at will.. so I feel you! I have found the best thing with pregnancy adding looseness to my hips is to always try and swivel/get up with my knees and thighs as close together as possible. It sounds awkward and probably looks insane when I get out of the car- but I get the most "poppy" when I'm moving one leg more quickly to the side or up from a seated position.

Ankles I have no suggestions unless you want to wear preventative ace wraps or braces... I just try to be careful and only wear flats :(

Wow. That's so scary!
Not sure about dislocating joints, but I used to sprain my ankle easily. My uncle did acupuncture on me and since then (over 12 years now) I haven't had a sprain.

I've always had issues with my knees dislocating. I think it's happened 10 or 15 times in my life, but I've learned ways to get it back in on my own. It's really painful when it happens, but I can deal with it.

During pregnancy however, all my joints have been getting really loose. I know this is normal because of the hormone the body produces to make delivery possible, but with my already loose joints it's become extreme for me. My knees are popping out constantly. My shoulder got dislocated the other day (SO painful!) and my husband put it back in, and my elbow came out today. I got that one back in myself but it's still killing me.

This afternoon though, when I was getting out of the car, my hip almost came out. It didn't, but it scared me to death. I know that a dislocated hip is a big deal, and I can't imagine how much that would hurt.

Does anyone else have this problem or know of anything I can do to keep it from happening? I'm scared to move...
