In all honestly, I would save your money for a more enjoyable trip when your LOs are older. 10 weeks old need a TON of naps and feeding (as I'm sure you remember!), and while some of them nap fine anywhere...many do not - especially when they are in a very hot (too hot for a 10 week old!) and noisy environment. Even for a 2 year old Disney can be overwhelming and you usually need to take lots of breaks, but unless you live nearby and can visit pretty casually and leave whenever, I strongly advise against taking a child as young as 10 weeks to Disney. The heat, the noise, all the people and germs for such a young baby to be exposed to, having to do the child swap or leave someone off with the baby for almost every ride and show...I just wouldn't do it. I can't even imagine it would be enjoyable.

If you decide to do it, you absolutely must take that break during the mid-day hours like @Mrs. Taco: suggested. If you the main reason for visiting is that you want to take your 2 year old, could you take a week of vacation time before baby comes and make it a special pre-baby trip with the 3 of you? I think that would be a much better option.

ETA: Sorry, I was typing when your update posted and didn't see it until after. I'm not much help with NE destinations unfortunately.

@swedishfish: Ooh yea visiting early and late in the day would be better heat wise but I think once I bring up the heat SO will nix the trip idea. It's ok - will need to think of over destinations! As long as we can do some trip for DD.

@MsLipGloss: @Mrs. Taco: Oy ok then it's probably a no go to Disney then. We were worried about taking DD out in NY summers when she was 6 months old so definitely not going to chance Florida summers. Darn mommy brain - totally did not think of this!

Hmm ok change of poll - how about tips in general for traveling with two of this age? Maybe we will go somewhere cooler but still fun for DD. Any good travel destination in NE coast that had good place to bring a toddler to play? I guess I just wanted to make sure she doesn't feel left out after #2 is born. =P

@littleveesmommy: I would aim for September. It's a little cooler and the parks will be less crowded. There are plenty of places in each park to nip into with air conditioning if need be.

We may end up doing this when we have another LO since I'm a teacher we usually have to go during peak times.

@Mrs. Taco: gave a great idea about visiting parks in the mornings and evenings and taking an afternoon break. We do that at Disney without LOs!

@littleveesmommy: It really doesn't cool down (or lose the humidity) until November. Sorry

@Mrs. Taco: @MsLipGloss: Ooh you are right about Florida summers! I guess depending on when #2 is born then we might be doing the trip mid September - is it cooler in September or still too hot? =\

I would totally do it! I think at 10 weeks, you've gotten more comfortable but they are still super flexible. My only concern is that your trip would be around the end of August, correct? It is REALLY hot down here then (I live in Central FL). My LO was born 6/6 and we often didn't go out in the middle of the day because the car seat/baby carrier made her overheat.

I would think that heading to the parks early in the morning, taking a family break in the afternoon, and then going back in the evening, might work best (staying at a Disney resort would make this possible).

Lastly, I would get trip insurance. There are so many unknowns with babies!

Following - thinking of going on a trip to Philly when LO is 11 weeks but scared out of my mind so will likely talk myself out of it.

I've been wanting to take DD to Disney World and think I've figured out the perfect solution but SO thinks I may be pushing it. Can you ladies let me know if this is doable or have I gone coocoo for cocoa puffs?

LO#2 is due at the end of June and I plan on taking my full 12 week leave. I told SO that I thought it woud be a perfect opportunity to take a family trip to Disney! We could plan the trip for the tail end of mat leave when #2 is around 10 weeks - baby would be older so I've better got hang of things but young enough where I could baby wear and hopefully be able to nurse/nap baby a majority of the trip, especially when we visit theme parks or out otherwise. I know #2 will still be getting up at night to feed but maybe daddy and DD can go get breakfast together in the morning to give me some quiet time / shut eye. I really want to maximize mat leave and know once I go back to work it will be a while before I can take vacation again. I also know DD would really enjoy the trip!

Is this trip too ambitious or doable? Any tips for flying with an infan and a toddler? Tips in general? Thanks bees!!!

***UPDATE***
After realizing my severe mommy brain and some bees help to remind me of hot FL summers, Disney World probably is not a good idea. Any bees have suggestions for a better vacation destination with a toddler and infant around August/September? Preferably on the east coast?
