okay so! we went to walt disney world. we've been many, many times before we had her so we had an idea of what to expect. I knew where the baby care centers were ahead of time - they are awesome! there are separate rooms for changing, feeding, playing, nursing - and one in each theme park. Animal Kingdom had the best one imo - instead of one large room with 4 wooden rocking chairs for nursing, there were two smaller individual rooms - each had a counter / change pad, a large glider (like dutalier) and dimmed lights.

I did bring our city mini and don't regret it. It was really hot..wearing her would not have been fun for me. Or my husband, haha. Parking the stroller wasn't a big deal, and we didn't go on that many rides anyway because of her nap schedule and our breakfast/lunch reservations.

We stayed at Wilderness Lodge, which was very convenient with the boat. The buses are great too, but expect to fold up your stroller to board (same deal on some of the boats, the larger ferry style you can push it on board). You don't have to fold it for the monorail either, which is helpful.

I changed her right in the city mini (reclines flat) or at the baby care center, so I just had one diaper bag. We packed a cooler with water for us and her sippy, but I was nursing so I was able to avoid bringing anything else. I did pack pouches of baby food and diapers, even though we had my brother's car to make store runs - it didn't take up that much room to be honest, so I didn't care.

They have high chairs and pack and plays in each room.

I also wouldn't recommend the park strollers - hard, upright plastic. Fine for older kids to sit in, but DD never would have sat in it or napped in it, haha. I'd recommend a rain cover..I bought one and it came in handy! Downpours come out of nowhere.

A rain cover tip my mom came up with - buy a cheap shower curtain liner and a set of cheap rings, assemble and throw in the bag. These fit perfectly on the park strollers - you clip the rings onto the stroller handle. Not sure about normal strollers though (I bought a jogger cover for the city mini)

Sorry so jumbled, LO is melting down!

The strollers you can rent, from what I've seen, are hard plastic and not comfy. Fine for toddlers yes, but not so much for babies. I have to tell you that we had ZERO issues with our stroller, but it's the B-Agile which is like the City Miny and I can fold it one handed. It's also so much smaller than other strollers so we had no issues fitting it. Honestly, it worked out great - particularly for naps. While LO slept we could still walk around and do things.

Oh, and we took LO on Haunted Mansion and it was so cute! She wasn't scared of anything! Here is a pic from when we met Snow White. Best part of the trip for me. :)

@LizSmith: We didn't go to WDW with a 4 month old but I will say that at 4mo my LO was very conent in a carrier and would nap in it on a whim. In some ways it may be either as their schedule is not as defined.

My husband's company trip next year is to Orlando, and we'll have a 4 month old. We were planning to go to Disney for at least a day or two before we found out we would have a baby in tow. Has anyone tried it with one that young? We have plenty of time to decide whether to try it, and I'm thinking it'll depend as much on the baby's personality (not easily overstimulated, happy to sleep in a carrier, etc) as anything else.

I took my son to Disneyland two October's ago for Disney's Halloween Party. He was 6 month old exactly. We took our stroller but you can rent a stroller there for like $15 a day and they are pretty nice. They don't recline but are comfy. We did wear our son a lot but that is because we nursed that way. If he is on your belly most of the rides won't make him get off. He can go on any ride that doesn't have a height restriction including: Pirates of the Caribean, Haunted Mansion, and Jungle Cruise. So you aren't restricted to kiddy land. The Baby Centers are amazing!!!! they have the nice changing areas but also a private nursing/pumping area. We would go in there for some quiet time. All of the bathrooms have changing areas so you don't have to walk back for a quick change. They also sell diapers and food and stuff but for a small markup. Rider Swap is fantastic and I highly recommend it for the big rides.

Go without an agenda and play it by ear. It is definitely over stimulating but if you child handles it well it won't be a problem. My son absolutely LOVED and still loves Disneyland.

@purrpletulips: hmmmm you are making me reconsider the stoller. I was thinking that it would be good for naps. My mom is coming with us so we will have the benefit of having someone stay with the baby. Such a valid point about transportation + stroller.

@Littlebittyhouse: We wore DD on our front and she loved it. She was more afraid of the characters than of the rides. We used a backpack as our diaper bag so that whoever wasn't carrying DD would carry that since we didn't take our stroller. I have to say it was nice at the end of the night when we were ready to leave to be able to squeeze onto transportation from MK without having to wait for there to be enough room for our stroller. Oh, and we were in the parks all day without going back to the hotel for naps; however we had the deluxe meal plan so all of our meals were sit downs which gave everyone a little break.

@purrpletulips: I did a little research and figured that we would attempt all the rides with no restrictions. Wasn't sure if pirates would be too scary? Really excited for the teacups and New Fantasyland!

Really love the idea of wearing them though - makes me feel better about a wiggly 18 month old on a boat ride!!

@littlebittyhouse: we went to all parks except Animal Kingdom. DD often fell asleep during longer shows or dark rides (Hall of Presidents, Muppets 3D, Haunted Mansion, Universe of Energy). Rides like Space Mountain and Tower of Terror were where we used Rider swap. We took DD on the teacups, Winnie the Pooh, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, pretty much any ride we wanted to go on that didn't have a height restriction was fair game. Was there a specific ride you were wondering about? Disney's website has great information on rides that are safe for kids (pretty much most of them).

@purrpletulips: GREAT idea to wear them on the rides! We are going with our 18mo old who loves to be worn. Do you mind sharing what rides you did?

We are planning on renting a stroller from Orlando Stroller https://www.orlandostrollerrentals.com/ they carry the citi mini

We will wear LO in the Ergo at the airport and have the stroller for the parks.

Some tips I've read about recently:
- Carry a small baggie for mealtimes with a disposable bib, spoon and table topper - easier than hunting those down in the diaper bag
- Diaper packs like @chrispygal mentioned
- Over the door shoe organizer for all of your 'stuff' that ends up all other the room.
- Grocery delivery for things like diapers, snacks, sponges and dishsoap

Excited about this thread!

We did disney with my sister and niece when she had just turned a year. It was amazing. They are so baby friendly. The baby centers are great. You can go on a lot of the rides with them. My sister didn't believe in baby wearing, but with our Ergo, it would have been a dream.

We took DD to Disney World at 18m but saw lots of people with littler LOs. We took a stroller with us but didn't use it opting for the Ergo instead; didn't like having to keep going back for it since strollers aren't allowed in line and they are often parked in out of the way areas. DD was able to ride on pretty much everything (usually in the carrier) and when she wasn't able to we would take advantage of rider share (you get a ticket from the Fast Pass attendant, one of you waits in line and rides while the other one holds the baby, then you switch; many times we waited in line together and then the one with DD would take the "chicken out exit"). The People Mover is a great ride to just relax on, shows are good for when LO is napping. We flew and had a rental car so I only packed enough diapers to get us there then we went to a store on the way from the airport.

I went this past March when my LO was 8.5 months and it was great. Honestly, we had zero issues. We took her on many rides and were able to see and do a lot. The toughest thing was having to slow down or go by her nap schedule, but overall it was great. Here is what worked for me:

-We brought our B-Agile stroller and it worked out perfectly. We used it in the airport as well which, in all honestly, was the toughest part of the trip. It was a lot of junk to carry and pack up for the plane. It worked out fine though and I defnitely think a stroller is a must.

-We had a delivery service deliver diapers and baby food to the resort so I didn't have to worry about lugging it down there. I also brought disposable changing pad covers and plastic baggies and made up diaper "kits" to bring to the parks. Each kit had one diaper, one changing pad cover, and a few wipes in a smaller baggie. I just grabbed a bag, hit the bathroom, and threw it all away afterwards. Much easier than fiddling with a bag.

-Each park at Disney has a Baby Care Center. It's inside, in AC, and they have changing tables, bathrooms, high chairs, and they also sell TONS of baby food and other supplies if you were to forget anything. Very convenient.

-We didn't carry much using a carrier since I found it to be too hot for both of us. This may work for you though.

-As far as other gear, the biggest pain was all the bottles and formula I brought. I did a lot of dishes, but it was fine.

All-in-all Disney is super baby friendly and I wouldn't hesitate to take a baby there again. In fact, we're going back in February. :) If you have any specific questions, let me know.

We are gong to Disney in October with my work for 5 days and B will be 6 months old. I am already stressing about what gear to bring and how manageable it's going to be. Anyone take their Lo to Disney so young? Ideas of helpful hints in how to manage the trip in general? Dh is excited about the rides, but I told him its going to be different with our little guy with us! Any input would be greatly appreciated!
