@Anagram: Thank you, that was all super helpful! I hadn't thought about monorail to dinner at other resorts.

@SeptMomma12: I would say Bay Lake towers, too. That was my first choice, absolutely, but they only had 1 bedrooms for the week we are going and we are taking my in-laws, so although I went back and forth (because the sofa bed and chair in the living room do make beds), I just thought it might be too cramped in a 1 bedroom, so then we settled for Boardwalk where we could get 2 bedrooms. They have been renovated, so that's a goodtthing.

I feel like a diva saying "settled" for Boardwalk, because everyone that has been there has said it's great.

I feel like I researched obsessively, and for our needs, Bay Lake Tower was most convenient--walk to Magic Kingdom, Monorail to the other monorail resorts for dining options, monorail to Epcot, boat the Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness (where Hoop de Doo review is). And then bus to HS and Animal Kingdom.

Wilderness Lodge looked nice, but I kept reading negative reviews about its transportation to the theme parks--apparently sometimes the boats are late or too full or don't come often, and then it's busses everywhere else.

SO my second and third choices were Beach Club and Boardwalk, because you can walk to Epcot and HS (or take boats), and bus to the other theme parks. They both have nice pools, but the Beach Club pool is enormous, so it has the edge for me.

Eta: and we booked using the points through the Dave's website and they were very responsive and easy to work with. I'll report back after we actually go.

I stayed in a Boardwalk villa studio in 2015 and while it was perfectly fine, the room felt a little musty and like it could use a refresh. I think the rooms may have been refurbished since then, but don't quote me on that. The location and easy walk to Epcot couldn't be beat though! It was nice since it was a kid-free trip and DH and I spend a lot of time eating around Epcot.

With young kids I'd lean toward Bay Lake Towers or Wilderness Lodge for easy access to MK (assuming they'd enjoy more time at that park). Some of the new villas were under construction when we stayed at WL last month -- they look like they're going to be very nice! Some are right on the water. It's not on the monorail, but we found the ferries to be convenient enough. There was always a seat and we didn't have to collapse the stroller when boarding.

We stayed at Bay Lake Tower due to Magic Kingdom/monorail proximity and it was great! We wanted easy back and forth because our kids were very young and we needed to go back for naps.

@MrsTal: @Charm54: Thanks ladies! Those are the two our travel agent is recommending as well, with a slight lean toward Beach Club because of the pool.

We are staying at Beach Club villas in March and are super pumped! We picked it because the theming was the most appealing. Being able to walk to two parks will be huge. We really like Epcot and actually spend more time there than MK. I also like that it's close to the Boardwalk. The pool area is out of this world, with a sand bottom section, sandbar for kids to play on, lazy river, and huge water slide.

First choice would be bay lake tower. It's nice to be able to walk to magic kingdom plus the monorail is right there to go to Epcot.

Second choice would be boardwalk for similar reasons. Can walk to Epcot and Hollywood studios and you can hop on the monorail in front of Epcot to get to magic kingdom.

My parents are taking us to Disney next spring and we've gotten quotes for a few different villa-type accommodations. Any feedback on any of the following? Price is about the same for all so that's not really a factor in the decision. Kids will be 5 and almost 3.

Beach Club Villas
BoardWalk Villas
Bay Lake Tower at Contemporary Resort
Boulder Ridge Villas at Wilderness Lodge
Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Wilderness Lodge
