@LovelyPlum: I can't remember when you're due, but I had crazy leaking most of 3rd tri that actually tapered off (some, not completely) as I got closer to delivering. mine was 80% on one side which ended up being my big producer.

@Zbug: I leaked until at least 9 months . . . I think more like a year. I nursed until 18 months but I think by then my supply had just gotten lower. I leaked on one side all of 3rd tri so that was a lot of the lansinoh pads, but I thought they were great.

Lansinoh. I tried a few brands of washable ones, including bamboobies and leaked through all of them. Lansinoh were more comfortable for me (of disposables) and so I just stuck with them.

@MrsStormy: Thanks for the suggestion-maybe I should try the lanolin again. I have some Medela brand, but it always seemed so greasy and nasty that I switched to coconut oil. I'm still pregnant, just leaking colostrum like crazy. Maybe my nipples will toughen up-I hope so! They've always been super sensitive to hormone changes, so I'm not surprised that they're irritated. I just need to be able to find something that works.

Lansinoh is what I use and prefer, but for a while my nips were sensitive in the beginning and they bugged me, so during that time I used reusable, after a week or two the lansinoh worked much better and didn't bother me, maybe once your nips toughen up? (I'm assuming this is the beginning of nursing/leaking for you though...) I also suggest lanolin for moisture, it worked much better than coconut oil for me, and provided a bit of a barrier between the nipple and pad.

Thanks all! I have been leaking like crazy the past few days, so I broke into my stash of breast pads. I've been using coconut oil on my nipples, because they're super dry. I've always had sensitive nipples, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that they bother me. I might try to pick up a few pairs of reusable ones and see if I like those better. Just trying to get a handle on this before baby comes and it becomes a real issue!

I didn't like the feeling of the disposable so I use the bamboobies heart shaped reusable ones. I have four pairs and that gets me through the week. But I don't leak at all I just need them because I wear the cheapo wireless nursing bra from target and there isn't any padding to hide the fact that the girls are at attention after pumping.

I tried Lansinoh and Medela (only because a few came with my pump) and I hated both. They made me really itchy. My favorite washable ones now are Bamboobies, they're really thin and soft. The Charlie Banana ones were my favorites early on when I was leakier, though, because they're made of stay-dry fabric. They're just bulkier and don't cup the boob as nicely, so they do show through thinner shirts. I also have some that are terry cloth with cotton backing that I really like, but I don't remember the brand. I think it had "Glam" in the name? Anyway, I have about 9 pairs between the three types and that's a good amount IMO.
