Thanks ladies! I struck out at the flea market this weekend for the dresser for the armoir so I am back to craigslists!

I am thinking White with maybe gold trim (if the detailing allows for it)...then any "accessories" being gold as well.

@sleepybear: I have a couple fabrics picked out to cover the back on the inside with - so I'll check out wallpaper too - great idea! Maybe I will do the whole inside....

I think white, with gold hardware would look best. You could line the inside of the armoire with a coordinating wallpaper to add some more character, though.

I think white would be nice and you can easily add more color with smaller accents. I agree with leaving gold for the fine details. I think that will be so sweet!

So - I need some DIY advice.

I am working on DD's big girl room. My boss is amazing and gifted us her toddler bed. It is similar to the picture below - only the headboard and footboard are solid not slatted.

The room will be a light purple, I am accenting with Pink & Gold. Other key features of the room are: white curtains, white sheer canopy for her reading nook, purple/white bedding, a large predominantly pink canvas, white picture frames filled with gold letter words, some gold heart decals for the wall.

I will also be making her a dress up armoir (second picture). My question is....what color should I paint the toddler bed & dress up armoir? I have to paint the bed because of chipping paint - so I can do white or something else. As for the armoir...I am hoping to have a flea market find this weekend - so it will have to be painted as well.

What do you ladies think? Gold? White? Paint them the same colors or different colors? I am going for a whimsical look in her room...and somewhat leaning towards leaving gold for just the fine details (decals, lettering in the art, hardware on the armoir/closet, maybe a mirror).
