@DillonLion: @Ajsmommy: @poppygirl15: thanks! I’ll take a look at a few of the kits - I might buy my own supplies to replicate, or just get several kits. I agree with you all that the fun is more about the process than the product.

We have the Klutz kit and it works well. My DD is 6, btw. You definitely need an adult to really press the mixture into the mold and an adult's careful hands to unmold it, but they dried well and my DD was pleased. :) I think the kit makes 12, so that might be a good option for you!

We've used a kit and it was easy.... slightly messy (powder/glitter).. they came out ok but not great.. kinda fell apart a little BUT DD LOVES THEM and always wants to make more. She got lots of activity type things for her bday and this was the first one she wanted to do. So even though they are messy and dont' necessarily come out great I think kids LOVE them. I'll see if I can find a pic to post...

I've tried kits where we make them ourselves, but they never hold together even after letting them sit out to dry overnight.

Has anyone tried a DIY bath bomb project with their kids that worked well (or was a massive fail)? I’d like to do this for a 7th birthday, but don’t have time to test out multiple methods/recipes, so am hoping to learn from others experiential or DIY disasters. TIA!
