Low blood sugar & low iron/b12 is the testing I would ask for without question at your next appointment.

I was feeling like that in the mornings. My midwives have me doing the following: high protein snack before bed, juice in the morning about 15 minutes before I get out of bed, and really try hard to stay hydrated. It has made a huge difference for me (low blood sugar in the mornings). I hope you get some relief soon!

I had low blood pressure from about 10-18 weeks with both my pregnancies. I could walk and exercise but I couldn't stand still for more than 2 minutes or stand after exercise at all. For example, I couldn't stand while waiting for the walk signal at an intersection while on a walk to pick up LO from daycare. It went away when my blood volume caught up with my needs.

@Cherrybee: I was like this with both pregnancies. I had low iron, low blood pressure and HE. Hope the doctor can help you!

@BananaPancakes: I'll second that. I had mild anemia in my second pregnancy and felt kind of like this, but not this bad. Had to take extra iron pills and eat lots of red meat.

Are you getting the rest you need? I'm sure that's a factor too.

Test for anemia, as well! I was all sorts of "off" with anemia.

@Ms. RV: Is that how your exhaustion felt? As though your eyes were rolling into your head and you could fall asleep sitting up.... from about an hour after you first wake up? Because if that's pregnancy exhaustion, then I'm sure its normal.

I never got the second trimester boost of energy. I was exhausted up until 16 weeks and then things started to get manageable. I also was dizzy but don't remember when. Hopefully your doctor tells you everything is normal!

Hmm, GD, yes @Kemma: !! Thats a great suggestion. I could test my blood sugar and see! My GTT is in 1.5 weeks time so the timing would be about right I guess.

Has anyone else had this? My first pregnancy was so easy and I felt wonderful.... so symptoms like this really take me by surprise.

I was tired in my first tri but at 12 weeks the tiredness increased exponentially. I'm so exhausted, I can barely string a sentence together. I feel like I'm at the end of a long tunnel, watching the world but not really in it. Underneath my eyes is completely black. Plus I feel dizzy every time I stand up, and have to sit down again. I feel so, so heavy - and as though my muscles are weak.

Oh and lastly I cant seem to catch my breath. I put it down to anxiety (work stress) but maybe its all related? Every now and then I feel like I cant breathe deeply enough to get enough air in.

I've got an appointment with my doctor tomorrow but I was just wondering if this is totally normal for this stage of pregnancy? I'm 14 weeks now and it seems to be getting worse not better... Where is my 2nd tri burst of energy?!
