I've been getting pretty dizzy this time! I do have low blood pressure and I am generally low blood sugar too, so I'm sure that doesn't help.

Mine was related to extremely low blood pressure. I had to increase my salt intake as well as my water intake. I even got to wear a 30 moniter and have an echo done. We found out that my values don't all close properly (which apparently is a normal occurrence) and it was just agvivated by the pregnancy. However next time I get pregnant I get to be followed by a cardiologist as well. :bummed:

My old OB said that whenever they had a patient come in complaining about dizziness the first thing they did was make them take a pregnancy test. It is VERY normal! I agree with PP that drinking enough water is important, but nothing makes it go away 100% for me.

Im 15 weeks and experiencing dizziness when I stand for a while, especially after eating. With my last pregnancy my doctor said my body just hasn't made up the extra blood volume needed. It lasted about two weeks last time and I'm hoping it won't last longer this time.

Yes, too little water could easily cause those symptoms. Also, too few electrolytes. I get dizzy and terribly low blood pressure if I eat too little salt and too little water.

I had this problem too. It usually happened when my heart rate raised, like exercising or standing up quickly. My ob said it was either blood sugar or blood pressure.for me I am pretty sure it was blood pressure, since it happened regardless of my eating. Her only advice was to take it easy and stand up slowly.

@simplyfelicity: i get dizzy when i stand up. It happens occasionally when I am not pregnant but more often and more strongly when I am pregnant. It is related to low blood pressure. If I stop and catch my balance and breathe, it goes away, so take it slow. Keep drinking water, girl!

I tend to get very low blood pressure during pregnancy and am often dizzy. I was really close to passing out once, too. How has your blood pressure been? My doc did say water was really, really important for low blood pressure.

I am 13 weeks today and have been noticing (the past two days) that I am pretty dizzy, lightheaded and hot. Admittedly, I have been going longer without eating and I haven't been drinking as much water. I know this seems like a bone headed "duh!!!" kind of post but not drinking as much water wouldn't have been abnormal pre-pregnancy. So, is it "normal" to get dizzy during pregnancy?
