It's nice on the wallet because we only use one car 95% of the time (so we keep one nice, new-ish car; the other one is old and and gets used once every week or 2). We eat lunch together just about every day and visit periodically throughout the day; it's fun to see him and we don't get sick of each other because it's not constant.</p> <p>FIL is my direct boss and I'm not a huge fan of that--I think he's harder on DH and me because we're family, and sometimes I'd like to be mad at my boss without also being mad at a family member...it can be hard to separate work and personal stuff. He is about to "tranfer" commands and so I wont be working with him directly anymore.<br /> The perk is getting to car pool if need be. Also its nice seeing for as technical and specific of a community we work for we understand each others work. A lot of what we do can not be discuseed outside of work for security reasons.</p> <p>The cons is the political BS and other work "drama" can sometimes follow us home. I loved working for my aunt, my uncle - not so much. I enjoy working with the hubby since we don't get to spend much time together. My mom worked for my dad since we were young, probably 20 something years and she just retired a couple of days ago. Pros for them were that they could trust each other, my mom worked with all of the money and she obviously isn't going to take any of it. I like that we were able to carpool and he helped me learn my job quickly.
