@char54: Are you counting these? The advice given to me was that if I had more than 5 BHs in one hour I was supposed to go in and get checked out.

I had them starting at 16 weeks, and towards the end they would get pretty uncomfortable. As baby grew, the tightening would cause more discomfort. They were never acutely painful though. RLP would cause sharp pains when I moved a certain way though.

I've been wondering this too. For the past hour I've had pain on and off...it feels just like period cramps. Lasts for a minute or so, then goes away. A few minutes later they come back. I'm 31 weeks and hoping it's just Braxton Hicks!

Is it a localized pain or pain throughout your belly? I had a lot of RLP (painful with a capital P!!!) and tons of BHs from 22 weeks on (uncomfortable, but not painful). If it's localized, I lean toward RLP.

I had constant BH from 18 weeks on. It never hurt but it could get uncomfortable because it was so hard and so much pressure on everything.

Do you get the pain even when you're sitting still? Is your stomach hardening when you feel the pain?

With my daughter, I had only one BH contraction that I can even remember and it felt like any ol' description of it (tightening, hard abdomen, etc.).

Now, at 28 weeks, I've been having pain in my abdomen, which I just assume to be BH only it doesn't exactly feel like it. It hurts. I wince. It eventually goes away but I'm wondering if what I'm feeling actually is BH.

Thoughts?
