@anonysquire: do you get more blisters just because you have moist feet then? Huh. My feet has always been pretty dry but I've had a hormone imbalance lately making me more sweaty in general (sorry, tmi?).

I'm trying to figure out why it's a problem for me now and it never use to be!

I only buy leather shoes. Synthetic ones (other than flip flops) get gross fast.

I just wear socks with any and all shoes except flip flops. I have naturally moist feet :( and I also am so prone to blisters. I get like 10 blisters a week so I try and keep on top of it.

@HLK208: the Aldo I go to keeps them on the counter by the cash registers :)

I guess I don't wear my Toms enough to notice the smell. Any synthetic material shoes make my feet super stinky, my rubber Hunter rain boots are a big offender even with socks and the fuzzy liners. Even my leather closed toed shoes don't cause nearly the stink that the Hunters do.

Yes, it annoys me. I buy terry inserts at Aldo and toss them when they get too stinky (they're washable, but I find they start to stink again pretty quickly so I don't usually bother). They're not super cheap -- like $8/pair, I think -- but definitely cheaper than buying a new pair of shoes. The inserts have definitely saved a couple of my favorite pairs of flats.

I find that my feet dont smell if I wear my leather flats, but they do when I wear my non-leather. I think it's because the leather lets my feet breathe better and the non-leather traps the heat and moisture. Letting my shoes "rest" for a day also helps with keeping them smell-free.

@TurtleDoves: right? I stopped buying flats at DSW because I thought maybe it's the quality? I have no clue!!

Yes! Most my flats. I wear those "half socks" with flats, and they work....when I remember them and when they don't slide around. Urgh. I throw flats out alllll the time because of this.

@HLK208: she's a liar lol I like to think I have clean nice pretty un-stinky feet but it doesn't matter. Toms are just stinky ;)

@Dapple Grey: that's so good to know! Maybe they are too small! I got measured but after my pregnancies my feet are a lot wider. Maybe it's just that my flats are too narrow.

@luckypenny: I had a conversation with another mom today and it went like this...
Me: "my husband really didn't want E to wear Toms because people usually wear them without socks which makes feet stink"
Her: "mine don't stink at all..." And then the conversation just turned awkward because I basically admitted my feet stink. Glad to know I'm not the only one!

Its probably cause they are snug, and it creates warmth an moisture due to sweat which is a breedig ground for bacteria. Ample room in the toe box, and of course clean dry socks help keep it under control, so its really that type of shoe i think because of how its worn..( i worked for a podiatrist for years lol)

Okay...I'm ready to throw out my Toms and cheap ballet flats. I've never had smelly feet before and now they are starting to gross me out (not to mention DH). I actually tried putting baking soda in the shoes and that helped for a little while but I think it's the adhesive or something in the shoe that is the problem!

Does anyone else have smelly feet from certain types of shoes? Obviously not wearing socks does not help either but none of my other shoes do this to me!!
