At two months, I think we changed disposables more often than cloth, because we watched for that little blue line on her Pampers. With cloth, we usually only change after we hear her poo, if she's fussy and isn't hungry/sleepy, or after it's been 3+ hours

We need to change cloth every 3 hours or less, otherwise we get pee leaks. Maybe if we stuffed the diapers w/ extra inserts then we could go for longer, but the cloth diapers are so big already...

We also change cloth more often than disposables. I change them before and after naps. The last thing i want is for her to wake up in the middle of a nap because of a super wet diaper. I think they are more susceptible to diaper rash if you keep them in the (wet) diaper for a long time.

Oh. Regarding rash, he has only had a rash in the sposies (when we went on a trip). It took over a week out of sposies to get better! It was small rash but STILL!
I *could* but *shouldn't* change sposies less often. I found the pack we used on our trip we used about 7-8/day which is the same as CDs.

When LO was newborn (first 2 weeks) he peed out of EVERY sposie and it was awful. That's part of the reason we stuck with CDs

yup. I change CD's 6-8x a day and sposies about 3-4x. I've never had leaks in sposies, but my CD's leak pee a lot. Right now I'm using them half/half.

We change DD about every 2 hours during the day unless she poops. We've never had a blowout & the only leaks we've had we're because I needed to strip the dipes, she was still too small for the dipe (I really wanted her to wear her sunbaby), & once because it wasn't snapped right & came undone during her nap.

I had way more leaks, both kinds, with DS when he was little in sposies.

@cvbee: Agreed on the sposies leak poop more and cloth leak pee more. But there are always tricks to prevent leaks (with both).
My LO gets changed equally with both but sometimes overnight the cloth leak more than a disposable might.... unless you get a special overnight diaper. Well, I think even with sposies they make special overnight diapers?

I think you change them equally as often.

I think it is more common for disposables to leak poop and cloth to leak pee. But of course, for both of them, if you have the right fit they don't leak. I've just noticed sposie people complaining about poop leaks and cloth people complaining about pee leaks.

ok, more cloth diapering questions!! LOL. do cloth diapers need to be changed more often then disposables? also do they leak more then Sposies?

im guessing cloth is better at preventing diaper rashes then too?!?! Pierson hasnt gotten any rashes from sposies (We have used all different kinds too,) so im hoping he wont with cloth also.. am i right to assume this? lol.
