I had several days of short, but fairly regular contractions. When labor actually started, I knew. It was very clear that these were different contractions. They were longer and obviously more effective. I hope things get started soon!

Okay... I've never had a contraction longer than 15 seconds, so I guess we are far from going into labour. Sigh.

I was just told this morning that mine need to be longer to truly count, > minute. But I was reassured that it's still your body signalling for things to get going!

Psh, every contraction counts! It means your body is preparing, and you're one contraction closer to the big push! :)

Take it easy, mama. It sounds like your baby will be here soon!

My doctor told me they should be roughly a minute to *count.* GOOD LUCK!

EDIT - by *count* I mean, count towards the timing for what they ask you when you call OB....ie, if I were to call and say I'm having contractions that are 5-7 mins apart, they would ask me if they are a minute long. But, I agree, every contraction helps (if that makes sense?!)

Again still having on and off contractions but havent started calculating them yet. I was wondering do they have to be long to count or can short contractions still work when calculating their distance apart

Thanks!
