It wasn't pressure but she says she throws it out there early for discussion. She says when it's the second kid, dads don't go to all the appointments like they did the 1st time. I told her it was fine because I was done - no more babies! She tried to convince me right there that I should have more. Lady, let me try my hand with the two I just birthed first, please! I was shocked at how many times I was asked! I'm only 33, I have no idea if we will have another baby but I wasn't ready to make a permanent decision. They asked me AGAIN as I walked into the OR for my c-section! I have heard of docs discouraging permanent measures while the woman is still young just in case they ever change their mind (a friend wanted to have her tubes tied during her c section with her second, but the OB convinced her to just wait a few more years). But that's not the same as trying to convince someone to have more. </p> <p>It hasn't come up but I've never felt like my medical team thought I should have more or less than I plan to. Friends and family have taken this in stride but doctors seem to. E having a hard time. </p> <p>We just had a referral appointment to maternal fetal medicine (everything was fine) and the doctor kept saying how young I was (31) and that we could easily have lots more kids. I said we were closing the baby factory after this one and he protested a little and kept saying we were so young. Do doctors ever try to convince you to have more kids? </p> <p>Most people in this area seem to have 1-2 but I've noticed most of the docs in my Obgyn prCtice have 3-4 (their website has profiles on the doctors and their families). </p> <p>Maybe they are just trying to drum up future business? </p>
