Deep frying vegetables tends to deplete the good vitamins in them. I wouldn't count it as my veggie for the day :P Even though they taste better!

I count it as yes. I LOVE fried okra. We are having friends over tomorrow night and I am making oven fried okra cause I am craving it. Luckily I know that they like okra.

Okra can be boiled or served in a soup, but the texture is very slimy.

I think veggies are good, even if fried. They just lose a lot of their value that way.

I think anything fried just has the added benefit of being super yummy!

On another note, there was a -1 in the quotation bubble next to this thread! Weird!

I had fried okra with lunch and I always wonder if that counts as a vegetable. I know the battered part isn't healthy, but is the veggie inside still good for me? Do people eat okra in methods other than battered and fried? I have never seen it served another way.
