But, yeah, I guess from reading so much American stuff I was a little taken-aback when the nurse was like "where are your diapers?" and then after the first bath "where are your baby's clothes?". To be fair to them, I would have found this out at my 'hospital tour' prenatal class, but it was scheduled for AFTER I gave birth. I didn't realize how long they were going to let us stay in the hospital (3 nights!!! it's the usual up here in my rural hospital because there aren't many people around here having babies), so i had only brought one pack of NB diapers and one small (travel) pack of wipes! We had to provide all the clothes and nappies for our LO too (in Australia) but I didn't mind. The nurses don't take babies here, unless they're sick, so we didn't have to worry about things going missing. There is a Grandma's society that knits hats for all the newborns so we did get a lovely little hat for her, but that was it!</p> <p>@jholler25: the hat you picked out is adorable!
