@daniellemybelle: Thank you! I'm going to have to try it. I stopped taking a b-complex because my prenatal vitamin has all the ingredients that are in the b-complex, but I just checked the label in detail and the doses of b vitamins are quite a bit lower in the prenatal. So it seems definitely worth trying the b complex again...

Tail end brown bleeding can be a sign of either low progesterone, or your progesterone tanking too fast.

It wouldn't hurt to as to have your progesterone tested to see if it's ok.

You might also consider having your estrogen tested. Progesterone supplementing helped me some, but my literal phase lengthened even more and I got pregnant the month I also took estrodial

I wouldn't think you would have too many problems with a 11 day LP but coupled with the spotting it might prove difficult. I would talk to a doctor.

I had a similar problem, spotting around day 7, but would get my period day 8 or 9. I had a mc, then took a B complex and lengthened my cycle to a solid 10-11 days and got pregnant with DD. We have had trouble conceiving #2 and after 2 more losses we saw a RE who discovered I had low progrsterone. I took it for a few months which helped me have a 14 day LP and got pregnant with current pregnancy (27 weeks) after 3 months. Good luck to you. Lots of women get pregnant with short LPs but it never hurts to talk to someone.

My luteal phase is 8-9 days. We TTC for 3 cycles before I started taking b complex to lengthen it. Not sure if it worked or not actually because I got pregnant that cycle!

Acupuncture and herbs can help too! I agree that you should be informed and direct when talking to your doctor. I had to tell my RE my concerns with my chart. She never would have asked otherwise.

When I got off the pill, my luteal phase was 9 days. I started taking vitex and I don't know how much it helped (vs just regulating off the pill), but my luteal phase lengthened to 11 days. I've gotten pregnant 3 times with an 11 day LP.

I have a short luteal phase, actually a luteal phase defect (like 7 days), and I took vitex and got pregnant the first month. I think it works wonders :)

My unprofessional opinion is that it certainly could present a problem but there's a pretty good chance it won't. Mine was fairly short and I tried vitex and conceived that cycle. I have no clue if that was the difference but if you have been trying for awhile it may be worth a try.

I've been tracking my cycle for about half a year. I have a 26 day cycle and ovulate on day 15, which makes for an 11 day luteal phase. That seems fine, and I wasn't worried about it, but some months I spot for a few days before my period starts in full force, starting around day 8 or 9 of the luteal phase.

I figured spotting was normal but decided to google it and found one site saying that spotting before your period starts, particularly if it starts on day 10 or sooner of the luteal phase, can be a sign of luteal phase defect. Then of course it goes on to talk about not being able to get pregnant and repeated loss

I know I should probably just ask a doctor, but I first have to see a nurse practitioner for a referral, and I've found it works best if I can be specific and forceful about why I'm concerned and why a referral is medically necessary. I'm not sure if this is normal and I shouldn't worry about it until we've been trying for a year, or if it isn't normal.

Anybody have a similar cycle? Did you do anything to lengthen your luteal phase before conceiving, or was it not necessary?
