I think it just depends on the person. I have a friend who wore her high healed boots until the end. Literally the week before she gave birth she showed up to work in them.

But my feet were so swollen and sore, I went for comfort over beauty.

At 22 weeks I still wear heels whenever I want. I haven't gotten swollen at all (actually the opposite; my wedding ring has gotten LOOSE on me - weird) and the only time my balance feels off is when I stand up from sitting/laying down. The majority of my heels have always been wedges though, which are just easier to walk in!

@junebugmama: So do I! I work in suits & skirts with heels every day. I was in tears many mornings getting dressed because literally no shoes fit. I finally had to break down and get flats in a size wide, lol. You might not have this problem though, for me it was the start of pre-e and is pretty extreme.

I cannot wait to get back to my closet of designer heels.

Alright flats it is! LOL.

I'm not an Uggs kind of person. I live in world of dress clothes every day.

I did however find a pair of leather boots that have a top and a strip back made out of a stretchable sweater style fabric at Aldo. They should work I think!

Oh my. I lived in flip flops. My feet got so swollen it was the only thing I could bear.

If my feet didn't swell as bad as they have I'd still be in heels.
Right now I can't fit my feet into anything but one pair of flats and my Uggs. But my swelling is pretty extreme, and part of the reason I'm now on bed rest.
I can't wait to wear my shoes and wedding ring again!

My girlfriend always wore heels, wore them through her pregnancies, and still wears them! I could never really wear them, so I still wear my regulars... boots :) My "heel" is the heel of my cowboy boots!

A friend of mine who wore nothing BUT heels (out of uniform) stopped wearing them sometime in the third trimester. She just couldn't walk in them any more (pain and altered balance). But once her baby belly went down, she was once again inseparable.

Everyone is different. I worked until my 7th month of pregnancy before I was put on complete bed rest. I wore heels every day. I didn't get swollen anywhere. I didn't have to take off rings or buy new shoes.

The size of your calves and ankles could change, I'd be careful if you're investing in a pair of boots. Towards the end, none of mine zipped and some where plain uncomfortable because of the heel height. If I had to buy a pair of boots to get through a winter pregnancy, I might be tempted to buy a pair of mid length Uggs. Not the most fashionable, but pretty forgiving, IMO.

i used to always wear heels too, but i'm only 21 weeks and about 2 weeks ago or so, my foot totally folded while wearing heeled boots. weird. so i'm trying not to wear heels as much.

i always wore heels before pregnancy. now i almost never wear heels. i'd definitely get a pair of boots to last you through the winter!

I've never been super comfy in heels, but I definitely hit a point where there was no way I could handle heels any more- they would be picking me up off the floor!

I've never been comfortable wearing HIGH heels, but theres no reason you can't wear shoes that are higher as long as they have enough support in them. Try Kitten Heels, wedges, etc.

I'm 33.5 weeks and I've had to stop wearing heels (and jogging) this week due to pain I'm having in my pelvis. :-(

I think you should have a pair of flats since you're pregnant during the winter. I could have worn heels but it was just safer to wear flats when there was snow on the ground - unless you live somewhere that doesn't snow.

I generally do not wear flats. I am always in heels. Right now I own one pair of ballet flats and sneakers. Will I be able to wear heels through my whole pregnancy? or should I pick up a pair of flats and maybe flat knee boots for winter? If you wore heels during pregnancy was their a point when you couldn't anymore? and if so, how far along were you?
