Thanks all! Yeah the one I liked from Target was unlined and stretchy. So hopefully they would work!

I'd have her pick up nursing tanks and stretchy sleep bras. I didn't wear proper nursing bras until three months, my boobs were all over the place size wise.

My advice is to buy an unstructured nursing bra in SML sizing for the beginning and then buy a nursing bra in the size that you are 6 weeks postpartum. That's when your breast size seems to normalize more. Some people say that the bra size that you are in the last trimester of pregnancy will indicate your nursing bra size but I found that to be BS. I was actually a band size smaller and a cup size bigger.

i bought a few and it ended up that the cups were too big. I found my band sized changed (up one or two sizes) but my cup size didn't (yet i'm 39 w). I would buy one that fits now and not to anticipate change. Most are stretchy in the cups a bit and you can always get extenders for the bands.

Honestly, I'd just live in nursing tank tops or stretchy general sized nursing bras until you get a little established with nursing. I bought a few expensive ones when LO was about a month old and they lasted me until we weaned at one year.

I started with just stretchy ones that come in S, M, L. I couldn't find any in my actual size - 40B.

My band size never changed but I went from a AA, to a A, to a B in pregnancy

I bought bras at Motherhood Maternity and they told me to buy C's for when my milk came in - I thought they were crazy but yep, I needed a C!

After a few months I went back to a B cup then back to an A around 1 year and then sadly back to a AA.

With that said - whatever you buy, get a few cup sizes!

I bought without trying on and even as my milk came in, it fit fine because it was stretchy. I was a 34B before and bought a Medium. The Target ones were a lot thinner than the regular Bravado bras. I bought both, but liked the regular better.

How crucial is it? I only ask because the cheapest ones I've seen here are at least 50 bucks. I saw some ones at Target online I like that I could have MIL bring back for me when she goes to VA in a few weeks.

I started out a 34A, then over the holidays I got measured again at 36B. Now at 25.5 weeks, I may have grown a teeny bit more, but then I heard/read you grow a ton more when your milk comes in...?

Should I go for it now, or just wait?

(I've seen some people selling theirs online locally, but TBH that kinda just skeeves me out.)
