@Periwinkle: I gave myself a time out today. I told her we both needed to calm down and I needed to be alone. We have had an awful last couple of days. Then she gets over it and I'm still seriously angry.

Mine has the sensor and it tells her to keep going because this is going to be good :silly:

For real, she does have her moments when she is perceptive and empathetic, and it feels like a gospel choir is singing. She will grab my face with her sweet little hands and say something like, "Let's be nice. That's not fair. I love you," and give me a big kiss. Usually it feels like she's disciplining me :silly: but it is her way of trying to diffuse the situation.

We have the opposite! Just when I am going to lose my you-know-what, LO will sometimes push a little bit harder. There have already been a few occasions this week alone (mind you, it's only Tuesday) where I have had to give myself my own time out to cool down.

I wish! Instead we seem to feed off of each other and it escalates faster! Or maybe she does and she's doing it on purpose!

If they do, her sensor is broken. She Ramps it up when I'm losing it :)

Apparently not, as evidenced by this morning when I was this close to just leaving her screaming in her car seat in our building garage. She's been a nightmare. (She was also diagnosed with a double ear infection yesterday morning so that's part of why, but only part).

Yup....but that doesn't stop the behavior.

Last night he looked at me and said, "are you going to lose your marbles again?"

Mine don't, or they wouldn't make me lose my mind  but they do have this thing where they're a terror for a week, an angel for a week, rinse, repeat. However long it lasts, enjoy it!

I swear my kid does. For weeks now she has been a holy terror. Tantrums and anger and yelling and spitting and hitting. I considered seeking help. Then last night at dinner, she complimented my cooking. 3 times. She picked out her clothes for the next day. She willingly brushed her teeth and hair. She crawled into bed when we asked her to. I am walking on eggshells wondering just how long this will last.

Does your child have a built-in "mommy's going to lose her mind so I better be on good behavior" sensor?
