We don't do ma'am here much. I will have to pay attention to how I am addressed! I get ma'am when I am in the US.

I get ma'am all the time (from my students, their parents, random people in the grocery store). We're in the South which may have something to do with it. It doesn't bother me at all- I actually kinda like it (and I'm 22).

Not really. But I'm old enough for it so I wouldn't be offended.

I get called ma'am all the time (and I'm only 24, lol) but it's usually by the guys in uniform on the Navy base we live on, lol. I've actually started saying yes ma'am/sir and no ma'am/sir when dealing with anyone I don't know since moving on base. It's just a way to show respect.

It definitely took some getting used to though!!!

As a side note DH expects our son to always say ma'am or sir when talking to adults when he gets older, but he's from the South and I think that's just the norm for him.

Yep, before I had baby Bear too. I prefer to be called ma'am to Miss, especially since I'm over 18yrs old...

Ew i hate it when people call me maam. I get "miss" sometimes. Maam sounds so old. :( Kind of like if someone calls me "ahjuhma", which I haven't been called yet.
