We get a lot of compliments on my LO's name, and lots of people commenting on how "old fashioned" names are coming back in style. So far no one has said anything bad about it!

We do get a lot of questions on how to pronounce her middle name (Imogen). Everyone asks if it's pronounced Imo-JEAN or Imo-JEN. It's Imo-JEN, in case you were wondering :)

@sorrycharlie: Even though I wouldn't ever want to name my kid a really popular name - I LOVE Ava, Olivia, Isabella, Paige, Emma Emily - I think that they all sound so beautiful!!

People usually say his name is really cute - well when they hear hi s NN which is what we call him 80% of the time. When someone hears his full name they say, "Oh that's cool - where did you get that name?"
His nickname is more loved than his first name I think lol

Not many people comment about it. Since we're in Mexico, Williams are not that common. When he was a newborn someone asked his name and when we told her she was like, "OH! LIKE WILLIAM LEVY!!" Much cringing ensued.

Most people say "oh thats different" Its a good conversational piece, because they usually as how we came up with naming our DD with a name generally used for a male. Both DH and I have gender neutral names, along with both of my parents.

@stargal: Actually, when I read your birth story, my first thought was, 'ooh I like that name.' It's sort of unusual without being weird, yet still classic.

I don't have a LO yet, but I have a feeling some of our names will be met with mixed reactions from family. And we don't even like "weird" names.

haha I love watching people backtrack when they're complaining about popular names "like Ava, Olivia, Isabella" and then we say we're naming LO Olivia. Quick, get your foot out of your mouth! :) After that, people say they love it, but seriously!

My little guy has a very traditional, simple, male name. I thought people would think it is boring, but the feedback on his name has been overwhelmingly positive. I think with all the unique and different names out there right now, by going with something rather plain and simple, that ended up being unique and special.

Yup! her name is Sienna and we always get either "Oh that's original, we've never heard of it" , "Oh what a beautiful name", "Oh so pretty!"
But then again, I don't think they'd tell us if they didn't like it.
I think people are more opinionated with our sons name (Mavrick)

Yeah, a few people have commented on how older names are making a comeback. Her name is Evelyn. When we first told my parents the name my dad said, "well that's gonna take some getting used to" like it was some crazy name. I think some of our family/friends are thrown off because they don't know what nickname to call her (like Evie), but I just want her to be Evelyn.

charlie's name is really common in our neighborhood. we hear it at the playground all the time. it's a classic name that we get compliments on every once in a while. we definitely get more compliments on olive's name though. my parents love her name.

We are trying to conceive now, but have shared our favorite names with a few people. Our favorite girl name is Theodora (with a nickname of Thea). We both love it, and keep coming back to it- but my mom and brother both HATE it.

I'm still glad I shared it with them, but its definitely hard to get over their opinion. Mostly I figure its just a polarizing name- you either love it or hate it (my best friend is at least smart enough to tell me she loves it :))
