people were constantly asking when we were going to try for #2, almost immediately after DS was born. most would say 'don't wait too long!!' or 'the closer in age, the better!' THEN when I got pregnant with #2 when DS was 6 months old(surprise!) I got the 'OMG! was that on purpose! wow, you guys are going to have your hands full!!!!' make up your minds people!!!! lol

@TurtleDoves: that is so obnoxious! I guess I've just been lucky not to hear anyone say this to us. Those stereotypes couldn't be further from the truth for my siblings... I was definitely the spoiled one though so I can't run from that :P

@scg00387: my mom has 3 (biological, she later remarried and got 3 more). People always asked us, "OK-who is the jealous one? the spoiled one?" Because there are three...so you've got the oldest (favorite, independent ) middle (jealous, middle child) and youngest (spoiled). People said it ALL THE TIME. Ugh...

@Smurfette: ha I think the same thing. We didn't even tell our parents until we got pregnant last time and will probably do the same again

Not this but people try to tell me how many kids to have! We're fairly sure we want three (I'm open to just two if next one is a girl) and everyone tells me three is the worst number of kids to have!! It's insane.

People have asked me when we are going to try for #2. Um, once I forget about the horrible newborn moments. I really want to say I didn't tell you when we're trying for R so what makes you think I am I am going to tell you this next time!!

All.the.time. And the general consensus is that the closer they are the better. But we have absolutely no plans on having another any time soon, and people can't get over it. They also can't get over it when we say we might be done with one. I don't know why people care so much. I don't even care as much as strangers.

Yes! After Vi's difficult birth we decided to wait 3-4 years for #2. A few people have already (!) started asking when we plan to start trying for #2 and when we say "maybe in three years" they flip out!
Seriously, why do people care so much about other people's family planning?!

Yes, people have an opinion about child spacing and when we should start having kids.

There's something about being 30 and being married that makes people think babies are close to mind (they are), but not really open for discussion.

I've heard comments on both ends of the spectrum...need to have them close/soon, need to wait so many years between.

My mom was the worst! She has pretty strong feelings that you need to wait at least 2 years between having a baby and getting pregnant for your body. Anytime I would meantion a friend was TTC again she would go off on a tangent about how they need to wait 2 years between. I ended up getting a BFP ~2 mo before DS turned 2. Luckily it was close enough that she has laid off those comments.

Uh oh, mine will be more then two years apart! I did that on purpose though- I get severe migraines and I can't take my normal meds while pregnant so having to take care of LO while she's tiny and I have migraines isn't easy! It's still not easy now that she's a little older, but at least she is old enough to sit through a tv show if needed.

Nobody told me WHEN to have another, but they did ask me when. And I would just tell them the truth, that we needed LO to grow up a little bit first.

Yes! Once J turned one, everyone and their mama came out of the woodwork to tell me I needed to have my kids close together. I was pretty set on waiting (4-5 year age difference) and people's mouths would fall open when they heard that. Turns out my kids will be about 26 months apart BUT STILL! People are so nosey!

I haven't even made it through THIS pregnancy, and people are inquiring about how soon we'll give it a sibling, and the sooner the better seems to be general consensus.

Haha! Yes! Usually it's not to have them too close together, except for my mom, who after I said that we'd shoot for 2 years apart, said "well at most" (seemed so horrified that they'd be a whole 2 years apart). Weird.

As women in our fertile years, we will never do anything how we are 'supposed' to. Babies too soon. Waiting too long. Not getting KU on your honeymoon. Not washing floors right. Like WTF?

How in the hell do they have the right to tell me when I should get knocked up?! :P If they want to help our budge out then fine, go for it, but turns out we're being intelligent by not having another one right now...because of our life situation...helllOOOooooOOOoo....I'm not going to jump on the wagon just because our kids "need to be less than 2 years apart". Sorry, nope. Not a good enough reason.
