My employer actually requires parents working full time from home to submit proof of full time childcare outside of the home. It's near impossible to take care of a child full time, and actually work full time. If you're working a full time job from home, you should have your child in daycare; makes sense to me! :)

That's ridiculous - people are crazy. If I were an employer of a WAHM, I would certainly expect her to have some sort of child care arrangement or else I would assume that she wasn't getting any work done. You would have to be superhuman to work and take care of a child full time and do both really well.

That would drive me crazy. I am actually a nanny for a mom who works from home. I think it's a great set up. She loves it because she will takes breaks to nurse her son, or just spend a little time with the kids/prepare meals etc. But she definitely works! she is in her office most of the day and is on the phone constantly for work. I would never say that she doesn't work!

I guess if you can't see it firsthand?? But yeah that's crazy. Sorry - that must be soo annoying!

Ha, a lot of people don't understand why LO goes to daycare FT because I work 3 days from home. I use the phone a lot and there is no way I can occupy (and keep her quiet) for 8 hours a day! My MIL thinks I'm lazy for putting LO in daycare and refers to my WFH days as days off!!!

Tryin to work with a kiddo at home is next to impossible! I work pt from home & let's just say I'm a good 3mths behind... Oh, did I mention DD is 3 months?!

The only reason I don't get childcare is bc my income is more supplemental than anything & it would defeat the purpose of paying for a sitter/daycare.

I work in the evenings & when DH is off.... When I'm not catching up on housework or a shower! Lol

I get this from time to time since I work from home full time. People ask me why DD is in daycare. Is it because I want time to myself?

And I had a SAHM who has the whole day to herself bc both her kids are in daycare, too, say that we do the same thing. I don't think so! I don't go shopping and play tennis every day! Harumpf.
