We were also at a birth center and he also had the option to catch her but I wouldn't let go of his hand. He wants to catch the baby this time. It was nice cuz the nurses took pictures of him trimming the cord while I was still on the table being closed up. Sometimes they will go ahead and cut it before they even ask so if your SO wants to cut it, make sure to verbalize this right before the baby is born. Sometimes they will ignore birth plans too, so don't rely just on that. I remember in movies where they let the father do it. Do they still do that or does the doctor do it? Or do they ask if you want to?
