But a doctor can tell you for sure. I got that in college on one arm/elbow and have no clue where I got it (doctor suggested maybe sweaty gym equipment and I was going through a workout phase at the time...so gross). I thought it was super unsightly, so my doctor burned it off so it wouldn't spread. Her pedi said that it takes up to six months to show up after contact. His cousin has it all over her little body but he only got it in a few spots. It needs to be covered because it is contagious. My BFF's son had it and they were very concerned with it spreading to her daughter and kids at daycare. It's a virus, except similar to the virus that causes warts, can take 6 months or more for your body to clear it. It usually doesn't call for treatment since it's a benign condition.
