Then we when we rocked him to sleep, it was obviously convenient for that. Now we use it to read stories in before naps and night-time. I think for us it will be a very thankful item we have, if not entirely a necessity. It's saving me the energy of standing and rocking her back and forth. And comfy enough for me to fall asleep in. Easy to nurse in also. DS is 18 months old and I've used it almost every night since he was born. I bought ours at a children's consignment store and it is in really good condition. If he hadn't we wouldn't have gotten one because I didn't think I needed it. Turned out we didn't! It was hardly used and now is taking up a large amount of space in our home. I prefer to be able to sit back on the couch or lay in bed to nurse... sitting so far upright is just too uncomfortable.
