Addressing to the kids but on the card write "bring your parents too!"

On our invitation we wanted to do this but were scared people would just drop kids off! So we addressed it to the kids but then wrote, "bring your parents, too!"

@artbee: haha. good question. i guess that's something to worry about for later. maybe i should have thought of that this time but i honestly didn't think anyone would just drop off their 20 month old!

@Andrea: But how do you know when you're not invited anymore and can leave your LO if your name was never on the invites?

@artbee: i think maybe around 4 or 5 i have heard that you can just drop your kids off and go do something else at certain parties. but so far, i haven't seen that myself yet.

@Andrea: LO was only 6 months when we got the invite so I knew we were invited too. Like I said, I haven't been to many kids birthday parties so I don't know these things yet.

@artbee: my friends with older kids seem to do the same thing so i've just followed their lead. i've always assumed that i am also invited since my LO is so young!

We recieved an invite to a girl's 3rd birthday party addressed to my LO. Honestly, I thought it was kind of weird. If I'm invited shouldn't I be on the invite? Or maybe I just don't know how people do these things since I don't go to many kids parties.

I like to address party invites and other things like thank you notes for gifts to the kids only (if applicable, versus the parents). I think it's cute for kids to have mail addressed to them. So I did this for my LO's 2nd bday party invite and I get an RSVP from a parent asking me if she and her husband are allowed at our party since it was ONLY addressed to her daughter. Her daughter is only 20 months old.

Sorry, I just had to LOL.

To clarify, yes, parents are invited, too. I don't want to babysit your kids!
