DD wears her nikes with dresses all the time.
We went to a wedding last year and she wore sneakers with her fancy dress.

@shopaholic: LO 1 has so many shoes that LO 2 can't wear! :( Maybe she will have a foot growth spurt after she starts walking? hahaha.

I found our Trumpette tights so those will be plan B if I can't find anything else that is affordable!

Usually complete an outfit. That small should be relatively easy to find an affordable crib shoe. But I can commiserate on the narrow feet problem. For that, I usually added socks or tights. But if all else fails, Trumpettes are always cute enough IMO!

P.S. I can't believe her feet are still so small! K is only a couple months older, if that, and her feet are size 5! lol!

@Arden: bahahaha

My DD is in between sizes right now so finding her shoes that fit right and within our budget has been challenging. I have a pair of silver sandals for DD and she's worn that quite a few times already, for 2 weddings so far and another one coming up. So I would just get 1 pretty pair to wear for any special events, not a new one for every event.

@autumnlove: I feel ya. What about a metallic ballet flat? They go with everything. She could wear them all fall/winter. These are from Old Navy & Carter's (they have both gold and silver in both of these styles):

I usually do, but I don't buy special shoes. He has a lot of hand me down shoes that aren't practical for everyday wear, but they work for special occasions, so I use those. I think it's easier for boys, though. He has a pair of black leather converse knock offs that look cute for dressier occasions, even though they are tennis shoes.

Always. When she was super little I would just do Trumpettes/tights or barefoot, but ever since she could stand I've done shoes that go with the outfit.

We had the same issue with the little shoes. I'm happy to help you find some that go, if you decide to get some! :)

Canvas sneakers (similar to keds) are my go-to when she wears dresses. Or when she was smaller she wore saddle shoe style Robeez with everything. Or the tights with "shoes" built in!

I would try to complete it but I wouldn't worry that hard. And your LO is so little, I would skip the shoes and just wear tights. Shoes fall off anyways.

Like if your LO wears a dressy outfit to a wedding as a guest...do they always wear dressy shoes? Or just their regular play shoes?

We are bringing our kids to a wedding next Sunday and I am looking for shoes for LO 2 who is 16 months old. She wears a narrow 1.5 or size 2 and that is hard to find. DH thinks I'm being stupid and LO 2 should just wear her everyday shoes that she wears to daycare or just go barefoot/wear tights. :)
