I mostly dab it on the areas that look a little red (usually around the elastic areas). We had more issues when we started solids. Then we used Dr. Smiths if we noticed any redness. We also have Nystatin for when Dr Smiths isn't enough (typically we encounter yeast infections with antibiotics). After our most recent encounter with antibiotics we turned to Corona (not sold in your average store) or Triple Paste. I use one of them on her probably once a week after a poopy diaper to clear up some tenderness. At 3.5 months she still poops about 5 times a day, so if I notice she is getting red I just put some on (maybe 3 times a week).
