I'd say that neither of us likes the other's favorite names, but we found some common ground a little further down the lists. DH likes names that are more sci-fi/fantasy sounding, and I tend more toward grandparent names. If this next one is a boy we have another family name we might use that is in the 500s. </p> <p>For girls we have no idea. The ones I like for girls are Rowan, Hazel, Iris, Harlow. But none of those actually seem like the right name. DH likes Summer. And yesterday he says hmmm what about Amelia!? Which is not my style/too popular. Ah. We will never decide. He likes names that remind him of nature or a certain place. I generally just pick names that I like the sound of.</p> <p>His favorite names are Fraser/Frasier and Douglas for a boy. These both remind him of fir trees. I do not like these names at all.</p> <p>We have kind of agreed on Elijah/Elisha if we ever have a boy because I like it and the name reminds him of a state park we visited while we were dating.</p> <p>He has never suggested any girl names so I don't know which ones of those he likes.</p> <p>It should be interesting trying to name our future children with him. My husband tends to like more traditional names and I tend to like more unique names. He thinks some of my names are off the wall and I think his are boring! Surprisingly he suggested our oldest child's name and I really like it and it was a done deal. For #2 we were no where close to agreement but I really felt strongly about his name and he came around to it. For #3 we are still negotiating. He thinks it's his turn to name this baby. He has only one name that I don't dislike. I'm pretty stubborn about names but may not have the energy to be so firm about it. I know serious mom problems here! DH is more traditional and I'm more classic with a twist of uncommon. We thankfully agreed on both of our kids' names though, so I guess it didn't matter in the end! :P</p> <p>There were definitely many many vetoes used on both of our parts though. Probably more with DS1 since our list was longer. </p>
