Not usually. We know to cut our conversations/arguments short, if it turns too political. We've had many 'agree to disagree' endings. :/ We can at least cancel each other out. Although, he wouldn't vote if it weren't for me telling him to go out and vote. Maybe I should let him forget! ;)

Our relationship isn't all about politics. We have other reasons on why we married each other. Yeah, I wish we had similar beliefs on politics which is probably why we argue about it. We are both trying to show each other our point of view and hoping to change them. I've come to realize that his stance isn't going to change and he is not going to change mine.

We're a permanent absentee ballot household, and it usually goes like this:

DH: Want to fill out our ballots?
Me: I already completed mine.
DH: What? Now what am I supposed to do?

Suffice it to say, we always vote the same way. {I'm more passionate and informed on political issues/candidates and we have the same beliefs. Plus he's a little lazy.}

Yes. I would never marry someone if I didn't agree on the pretty major political things with. We often vote differently on state initiatives, since those are less black and white.

I know of one time that we voted for separate candidates for governer. She voted for a write in because she didn't like the candidate, but I was glad I voted the way I did because it was not a landslide election by any means. But in general I think we vote the same. She influences my decisions heavily because she has been involved in politics since she was wee and I trust her judgment. For measures we've made different decisions plenty of times.

We usally vote the same but we definitely have different views on social policy and fiscal conservitism. It has caused some heated discussions from time to time but I think we both come away respecting each other and even maybe changing our views a little bit.

almost always, yes. and for the same reasons as others--my political beliefs are aligned very closely to my fundamental values, so I wouldn't have been happy in a relationship where we weren't on the same page. I think the only candidates we might have disagreed on were during the last local primary elections, for things like public advocate and borough president (there were a TON of different candidates running, but all within the same party), but I think after telling him why I thought a particular candidate was better than the other he might have agreed with me, I don't remember...

My hubby isn't a citizen so he can't vote here. We tend to share most political views, though, so we often talk about the merits of each candidate or referendum in the races he cares about and I keep his preferences in mind when I vote (though on the rare occasions when we disagree, I obviously vote the way I prefer).
