It's not nearly such a big deal in Canada though. I agree with mrs jacks, it would have been harder for me to marry outside my politics than religion. Id be okay if someone had a slightly different interpretation of the bible than me, but not having the same values would be too hard. Neither of us are particularly passionate about it either way, and both tend to go more towards the center, so we might lean in different was on certain issues but are still close. My husband is conservative, raised by a very conservative family and I'm much more liberal, raised by a fairly liberal family. We discuss politics, but we don't say things in a way to piss the other one off. It's hard sometimes, but I value his opinion only second to my own and therefore he keeps me balanced and open to other trains of thought. We both try and understand each other's way of thinking. Unfortunately for me, I live in a super conservative area, so he gets his opinion supported much more than I do, but I can handle it. He has become much more socially liberal since being with me, though.
