I always referred to LactMed and then checked with the pharmacist before taking anything while nursing. http://toxnet.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/sis/htmlgen?LACT

I take Tylenol; that's it. Sucks when all you really want is something like DayQuil.

Yes, I definitely take fewer things than I would before. To me, it seemed like pregnancy was easier to take medicine than breast feeding. I feel way more neurotic about medicine now- it is amazing what breastfeeding does to us mentally! I worry about supply, I worry about him going on boob strike, I worry about supply tanking, worry, worry, worry.

I had a horrible headache the other day after working in the heat all morning- finally broke down and took my first Excedrine in over a year... and dumped all my milk for that night (even though it was ok according to Dr. Google, I would have called my LC if I was thinking of using it).

A few days before that I had a crappy cold, and didn't want to take any cold medicine to dry up my milk supply... so I suffered with cough drops... and worried about taking them too.

I had my first clogged duct yesterday that came with a fever, chills, and body/headaches. I looked online to make sure I could take Tylenol. Fever and sick symptoms are gone, I think my clogged duct is still there...

I take Tylenol for body pain and sometimes flonase when my allergies are bad - this was ok when I was pregnant so I'm ok taking it now. I am scared to take any other types of medication.

I'll take tylenol only when I have a REALLY bad headache or if I'm super sick.

That's one of the reasons I didn't continue to breastfeed. I always have to take meds. It was bad enough when I was pregnant and didn't have a choice, but in my case I feel like formula was better for everyone so I could take the meds I need and not worry about lo.

Charlie was sick for a whole week and Mr. Bee and I finally succumbed and got sick too this weekend. I took some advil because I had really bad headaches, and I already knew they were safe to take. But I remember getting a cold shortly after having Olive and worrying about whether I could take cough drops (I did... ricola).

I do tend to avoid medicine if I can because I'm breastfeeding, but when it comes to advil/tylenol, I take it if I need it.

What about you?
