I have found it cuts down on spending. I also have a mint.com account and thank GOODNESS for it! Back in Feb I got a high spending alert text to my phone (I just woke up from a nap so there was no way I could have spent any money), and someone had somehow gotten a hold of an account number for my debit card and spend over 2,000 on Walmart.com buying a laptop! Our mortgage and our credit card bill (by far our two largest expenses since we use our credit card for everything and then pay it off in full each month) get paid on the same day. And then the day after that I see where we are at and go ahead and move money to savings for the month. Now I do everything online and just monitor there.
