We don't actually wash ourselves (shower later) but we do climb in the tub with her. When it's time for us to bathe and she's awake, if we're home alone we put her in her infant-toddler rocker in the bathroom. We have a clear shower curtain so she can see us. They are great for at the pool or lake as well. I did a post on showering with a baby. Needless to say, I did it regularly. I did shower seperately if I needed to shave, but other than that I was able to get all my self-cleaning done and clean Lorelei at the same time. @lolabee: Lorelei is really water-confident, too. Has no fear of getting her face wet or going underwater. I feel like I have to be extra vigilant since she just doesn't seem to get scared at all, but it is nice to see her feel so confident and have so much fun. Maybe there is a correlation! We never bothered buying a baby tub, figured we could do without. We've had him in the shower plenty of times as well. I'm not sure it has anything to do with me always bathing with him, but his confidence in the water is outstanding. He never cares about water in his eyes or face. I haven;t showered with him--that scares me like I could drop him and also I feel like I wouldn't be able to wash either of us! We probably do bath together 3-4 days per week on average. I'll probably stop once she can really bathe herself and doesn't need a lot of help with washing anymore. We've upped it to 3 times a week since he's so mobile. When I was solo parenting, I took LO in the shower out of desperation because he was so dirty and I didn't want to do a bath by myself. We couldn't figure out how to bathe LO in the big bathtub, so at the end of my shower, DH brought LO in and I held him under the water while DH soaped him up. He loved it! Plus it was a really efficient way to wash LO. I don't know how I'd do it alone though (hold and soap LO), and I definitely don't think I'd be able to take my shower while holding LO! Showering is my time to myself. She is 6 months and we still use a the infant sling in her tub. But going to stop soon but I still don't see me getting in the tub with her. I was prepping for my shower this afternoon when DD woke up from a nap. It appeared she had soaked through her diaper a little bit, so I decided to pull her in the shower with me for a rinse off. She seemed to enjoy it! Granted, I think she was comforted by the fact that I was holding her/singing to her, so there's always that. I was only able to suds up a bit, and rinse off, myself, but I was able to soap and bathe her, just fine. Definitely not something I would do if I needed to shave, wash my hair, or get super duper clean, but I could see myself doing it at least once a week. What about you guys? Do you (or DH) bathe with baby?
